'All that glistens'japanese style platter

Made from chestnut wood and mahogany, the centre panel is gilded with dutch gold metal, and the grain highlighted with gold wax over black stain. Neither is gold, and the platter reminds us that we need to be discriminating, and 'all that glistens is not gold'
This could be used as a table centrepiece, a shallow bowl for nuts or sweets or a wall hanging. 
About 25 cm across each side and 5cm deep.
